Yesterdays Cinco de Mayo

Som jeg nevnte i et tidligere innlegg har de en dag for alt her. Dager hvor handelsstanden gnir seg i hendene. Når en slik dag er over kommer det nye salgsstands med varer til neste feiring før man rekker å trekke pusten.
Og Per Christian og jeg er selvfølgelig suckers for it! Vi elsker en unnskyldning for å feire 🙂
I går var det Cinco de Mayo, eller som folk kaller det her: Drinco de Mayo. I utgangspunktet er dette en dag til minne om meksikanske styrkers seier over franske styrker ved slaget ved Puebla 5. mai 1862, men det er det få som vet. De fleste benytter anledningen til å drikke tequila og coronas, inkludert oss…

As i mentioned in an earlier post there is a day for everything here. Days the stores take advantage of to make big profits, and when one is over they make new stands for the next before you can even take a breath.
And Per Christian and I are suckers for it! We love an excuse to celebrate 🙂
Like yesterday’s Cinco de Mayo, or drinko de mayo like people here call it. But it is actually a celebration of the Mexican victory over the French forces at the battle of Puebla May 5th 1862. But I don’t really think people pay attention to that. Most use it as an excuse to drink tequila and coronas, just like we did..
