Emigrating Norwegians

Spennende tider // Exciting times

Last weekend Per Christian and I visited our Norwegian friends in the Hollywood Hills who also happen to have a production company here. Their house is amazing! You can see all of LA from their patio. It’s like you’ve got to pinch yourself in the arm to make sure it’s real.

Anyway, this visit was actually the result of a dinner we had a little while ago where we discussed a few thoughts about new TV-concepts. Developing ideas like this is right up my alley and exactly what my job was back in Norway and I have the know-how to take it one step further and a good sense of separating the good ideas from the bad and what it takes to actually pitch a project. So we had a little brainstorming session and ended up with a great idea and a deal that we’d get together at their house and work on it some more. Long story short; one idea became several ideas and the wheels have just started spinning. I really hope that we can make things happen together.

We have also managed to get a couple of other meetings this coming week, but it is too early to tell you more about that right now. I feel like we are beginning to understand how LA works, and I was completely right in this and this post when I wrote that we would need sharp elbows and a constant smile on our faces, and that you’re nothing in this town without a solid network around you.

I’m a Norwegian girl who is leaving the cold, icy north together with my husband to find out what’s happening on the other side of the world, more specifically Los Angeles.
