Emigrating Norwegians

Værfast // Stuck in the arctic

In the taxi on my way to the airport I get a phone call from an airline representative telling me that  my flight is cancelled. It’s to windy and the aircraft can’t take off. It’s windy in the wrong direction even. The taxi driver is like “Duh, I could have told you..”. The people who live here have a great attitude towards things like this, they’re used to it. It’s nothing you can do about it. So even though it’s annoying to miss an appointment in Oslo tomorrow morning as well as precious moving time, I guess I just have to sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the powerful forces of nature. Maida and I opened a bottle of wine and that helps a lot too.

I’m a Norwegian girl who is leaving the cold, icy north together with my husband to find out what’s happening on the other side of the world, more specifically Los Angeles.
