Emigrating Norwegians

Å lage TV // My job

Jobben min her i Norge er å blant annet utvikle nye TV-konsepter.

Neida! Joda… Neida.

MIPTV i Cannes, April

My job here in Norway is, amongst other things, to develop new television formats. It’s a fun and exciting, but also challenging job. You may have the best idea in the whole world without selling it. It’s all about timing, trends and the networks profile. Everything has to be just right. It’s a lot of “same, same, but different” here in Norway. A year ago at MIPCOM in Cannes two of the major networks both bought a celebrity diving format, or two very similar ones. TVN backed out and TV2 produced it, but didn’t get very high ratings..

Anyway, I love my job and it would have been fun to do something similar to what I’m doing now in LA. It’s like the worlds entertainment capitol! Imagine the possibilities! I’ve already got a few ideas, for instance; “What’s in your freezer?”, “Americas next d-list celebrity” or “E-bay wars”.

Just kidding! Not really…Yes. No. Yes really. Kidding.
