Emigrating Norwegians

Begynnelsen // The Beginning

A late night two years ago, my husband and I signed up for the so-called green card lottery. And then we forgot all about it. One year later I realize that I’m actually one of the lucky “winners” and have to fill out an enormous amount of paperwork and send it to the US government. It couldn’t hurt? So we did, and then we forgot about it again. Then came April and the message with an interview date at the American Ebassy in Stockholm. After collecting all our papers and having an extremely overprized medical check we were ready. In June we went to the airport where we were suprized by two of our friends who wanted to come with us for moral support! So we flew to Stockholm with great expectations and nerves, and our friends’ moral support seemed to do the trick. We were at the Embassy for about an hour and left with the biggest smiles you can imagine. We were approved! So now we’re moving to LA in three short months.

And the fairytale is just about to start!

I’m a Norwegian girl who is leaving the cold, icy north together with my husband to find out what’s happening on the other side of the world, more specifically Los Angeles.
